I don't recognize the phone number listed at the top of this page. I was bounced back and forth between two other numbers, (for "existing requests"), neither of which was helpful or even interested. Typical customer "service" these days, I know. When I made the appointment -- for a dishwasher I bought only 1.5 years ago that has a defective dispenser component that's now failed twice -- I was assured that my wish not to have the technician arrive as early as 8 a.m. would be honored. However, Whirlpool confirms its next-day appointments with a recorded call that mentioned the ENTIRE timeframe even if they've previously agreed not to come before a specific early hour. The two reps whom I spoke with were robotic and unhelpful. Only after a half hour wasted on the phone with two reps at two different numbers (who kept telling me to call "the other number"), trying to confirm the time they'd previously AGREED to, was it revealed that my appointment would be the third of the morning. Guess this was some closely guarded secret that they didn't want to divulge? Bad products, even worse customer "service."

Official company reply

Hello, we are very sorry for the frustration you have encountered. When scheduling service we can request specific time frames but we cannot guarantee them. We recommend speaking with the servicer directly as they are the ones who complete the service. We will be sure to document your concerns in the appropriate manner.

I was just reviewing the comments of other unhappy customers. Has anyone noticed that the "reply" from Whirlpool is almost identical in every instance, They want a model and serial number even if you are just trying to get info about a prospective purchase.

Anybody think maybe robots are running the place????

Official company reply

R Stukey:
We apologize if our responses have come off as "canned" or "robotic" as that is not our intention. Generally, we need similar information to help a variety of consumers and this allows them to contact us regarding their concerns.

I had service contracts on all my kitchen and laundry appliances. My washer suddenly stopped working and after more than an hour trying to reach the service department phone listed on the contract, I was never connected. I even took the step of calling Whirlpool corporate HQ and all the operator did was connect me to the same awful hold music i had already been listening to. I asked to speak to an executive but I was just returned to the line waiting to talk to the service department. I have had problems in the past with other calls for service but after extremely long hold time I was finally able to get through. My contracts are expiring soon and I will not renew them. In addition to making it almost impossible to get an appliance repaired under warranty,They raised the cost of the renewal of the contract. In 2017 the cost for the washer and dryer was just a little over $200. For 2018 they wanted over $500. These appliances are only a little over 2 years old.

Official company reply

R Stukey:
We apologize that we are unable to further assist you. Anytime a consumer is under a legally-binding Extended Service Contract we can only refer them to their service provider for questions or assistance.

I have a 6 month old whirlpool refrigerator that is not cooling properly. After contacting whirlpool I was told that someone would contact me within 48 hrs. Five days later whirlpool calls back and says they have no one in my area to fix fridge and that I have to find my own repairman, have him diagnose the problem, then I have to contact whirlppool again to order parts and after repair is done whirlpool will reimburse me no more than $150 no matter what it costs if I mail them receipt for repairs.
I am very disappointed in Whirlpool and will never buy another appliance from them unless they contact me and take care of this warranty issue. I will also be leaving bad reviews anywhere I can and also will try to contact main office to get this resolved.

Calling the “customer service”number listed on their site allows you to prune the shrubs, grocery shop and watch your favorite TV show before you may be connected. But alas, you can go ahead and mow your lawn while you dial again, because they just disconnected you!

Waited 90 minutes for call back. She authored Alliance Appliance in Lakewood NJ to comebetween 9-12 the next to see what parts I needed. I told Rep that in a previous call to Alliance they requested that I ask Rep for a fax with authorization number. When I explained this to rep, response we only do this electronically. No fax. I called Alliance to verify contact with Whirlpool and she did have electronic transmission without authorization number. Alliance will not facilitate this issue with a phone call so I now will call Whirlpool back again and wait another 2 hours to hear back from then. Why is it these reps will not listen when you offer information about what happens atService centers? Why won't an authorized service center who gets paid by Whirlpool make one phone call for a customer? Judy asking.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. No weekend CSR. No emergency numbers when the refrigerator still under warranty quits on a weekend. Spoiled food. Totally unacceptable.

Then the phone service puts you into an endless loop with "order of call" wait, instead of advising to call an emergency number which apparently doesn't exist.

If anyone requires service on a Whirlpool product, do yourself a favour, if you need service on an out of warranty appliance, do not call Whirlpool call anyone else. I had requested service on my double oven as the self-cleaning wasn't working after making two attempts to clean my oven. When the tech arrived, I advised him that the oven was still working, it was just the self-cleaning that wasn't working. He stuck a probe in the oven to see if the oven was reaching the right temperature. Advised me there was nothing wrong and charged me $166.11 for doing absolutely nothing. I still have the problem. Unbelievable, and you call this customer service. Service calls are roughly $80.00 not $166.11.

I bought a side by side fridge freezer units in May 2017. The fridge has been confirmed by a service tech that it was miss manufactured. The door and fridge compartment are out of square . Therefore the freezer and fridge cannot be aligned. A replacement fridge has just been delivered after 4 months and once again the fridge is out of square. Right down to the crooked whirlpool sticker. This a situation where unless a company rep comes to see this fridge the manufacturing issue will not be corrected. I paid good money for these units and at this point in time its going to be a never ending parade of service techs and out of square fridges. My kitchen was custom measured for whirlpool side by side units and i can't put the trim package on. The unit is under warranty but how much is my time worth when i was told whirlpool was a quality product. warranty file

Need a manual, and parts for a Whirlpool dryer. Worthless website. EXTREMELY slow. Doesn't recognize the model number, or any subset of the model number. Their contact form won't submit my comments because it again, tejects the model number. Chat also doesn't work. Phone disconnects, or goes dead.

This company has made a deliberate attempt to insulate itself from owners.

It was a disaster to do business with them. They sent me the wrong products, and they charged me the shipping and i had to pay it.
Shipping was paid in the purchase and return as they have a policy that states they do not pay for shipping, which is to their convenience as they sent the wrong parts that were needed, yet i had to pay the return shipping. The are not a serious company to do business with. I consider them to manipulative to their advantage. NEVER again will I purchase anything with the with the name Whirpool.

I Bought New Cabrio Washer And Dryer 12/2016 And Have Had Nothing But Trouble With Bothe Them From Day One. I Regret Buying Them So Badly And Paid Almost 1500.00 And I Am Disabled, Single Mom, On A Fixed And Very Low Monthly Income And Buying These Took Most Of My Savings And I Am Still Going To The Laundrymat. I Feel Whirlpool Wants Me To Keep Taking Service Calls After Call Until My Year Is Up And Then I Will Be Out Of The Year And Out Of Luck. I Want To Join A Class Action Suit As Soon As I Can Find One. I Am Not Getting Treated Like I Should When I Have Called Whirlpool And Begged For A Different Set Telling Them How Dissapoinited And Frustrated I Am, They Dont Care. They Take Your Money And Then Dont Stand Behind They Product. They Have To Know, See All The Bad Ratings And Things People Are Saying About The Cabrios And The Famous F1 Codes, The Unbalanced Loads, They Always Blame On Us The Customer And The Dryers Are No Better, The Are Both Pieces Of Crap!

Whirlpool/indesit have the worst customer service ever...
They sold me a tumble dryer that had to be recalled as was in danger of going on fire...
They said they would send out an engineer to repair...
I had to take time off work & the engineer didn't turn up.... This happened twice...
If you try calling to find out what's happening they put you on hold & then cut you off...
The live chat is unavailable so youre left waiting all day without any compensation for loss of earnings.....
I would definitely NOT purchase anything from this company again....
STAY AWAY*

Same here! We are stuck in one mode....only the Colors option currently works. Any other cycle: bulky, delicates, etc and then we get the lovely F1 error code. This is the most frustrating piece of equipment we have ever owned....and I've had my share of iPhones and stupid bugs....this tops all of that! I refuse to pay for parts or repair when it is of no fault of mine that this is happening.it has been sitting in our garage for over a year now. What a waste of our money. Money that could best be used elsewhere.

NEVER EVER BUY WHIRLPOOL. My front load washer was leaking and I booked an appointment on January. I live in a high rise, when the technical came, he told me you don't have pass for parking and I have another appointment don't waste my time and he went after just 10 minutes. He did not come to my home at all. I did not call them again. . I made an appointment with sears; the technical from sears came and fixed my washer. I did not have washer for ONE MONTH.
Then on 01/21/2017 whirlpool send me an invoice of 124.95CAD. Now after 6 months an invoice came from CGC that I have not heard about them, they wanted me to pay my overdue invoice. It is very rude, the technical did not come to my home, and he did not do anything, why I must pay money.

extremely poor customer service. contracted technician left our cooktop more broken than it was prior to him looking at it. device is under warranty but they treat you on the phone like you're not important.

PEOPLE DONT BUY WHIRLPOOL.

they may have some good appliances, however the willingness to help a customer is almost non-existent. i will never recommend this brand to anyone for one simple reason, warranty and lack of timely assistance.

i have a family of 5 and repairman broke our cooktop before the weekend. the soonest appointment is 4 days from now and the best they can do is tell me to wait until someone calls you back. simply unacceptable.

Please beware when you intend to buy the extended warranty. No HIDDEN COST is tricky! They haven't clear mentioned and make customer alert - if you buy the extended warranty you cannot book schedule though online. ALL COST ARE SUFFER FROM CUSTOMER. Lucky this service call I no need to change the parts otherwise the fee charged by Whirlpool Canada will be huge amount.

_____________________ONlY APOLOGIZE but they do nothing______________________

We apologize that you are not satisfied with the decisions that have been made by your extended warranty. We do understand that you were not aware that you would need to contact the extended warranty provider prior to arranging service. At this time this issue is not covered under your extended warranty per the terms and conditions of your contract. Also since your appliance is outside the first year manufacture warranty Whirlpool would be unable to cover this call. If you wish to discuss this matter further please contact Whirlpool customer service, at that time you can request a supervisor.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

I called the Certified Care to address my case (I have been passed onto many different people including Manon, Cheryl,Patricia etc.). They told me that the loud noise coming from the refridgerator is not an functional part thus they can not do anything. This invoice was issued by Whirpool Canada and Patricia from Whirlpool Canada ESP told me that there would not be a specific person for you to email and I would need to call Whirlpool customer service. When we called Whirlpool customer service they said that we have to call Certified care. I am constantly being passed around to different people and no one is willing to take the initiative to address this issue. I am extremely unsatisfied with your customer service.

My Whirlpool dishwasher pump went out. It was several months outside of the year warranty and Whirlpool fixed it free of charge. I appreciate that. Although I had a problem when the dishwasher was fairly new, they still did not have to fix it for free and they did. Thank you Whirlpool!

They were were great they set up an appointment for me with Repair facility. Within in 1 week my wife was doing laundry again. No charge to me. I'll defiantly go whirlpool again

I have had two service calls with my dishwasher within terms of warranty. I called to get someone out two times. The wait time on the phone was acceptable, no more than a minute or two.
The first service call seemed to address the issue, but Whirlpool sent someone out again and took care of the faulty pump.
Getting someone out to our place for warranty service was really not as inconvenient as I've read online. I'd say Whirlpool may even belong in the convenient basket.
Many thanks for taking care of my appliance issues Whirlpool.

To whom it may concern,
I bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer in Colima Mexico 20 years ago. I was an English teacher in Manzanillo. On Oct. 9th, 1995 we lost our home to a devastating earthquake. We dug our machines out of the rubble of our home located in Pajaro De Fuego and managed to bring them to Puerto Vallarta. They were the only items we were able to rescue. Although they had no knobs and were dented and damamaged, they worked!
Now, so many years later, they struggle to work but they still function(like me).
I want to express my admiration and gratitude for a product that not only has functioned as promised, but has endured far beyond the reasonable expectation.
I have always recommended the brand as used it as an example of quality.
Gratefully,

I just called customer care with questions about their extended warranties for clothes washers. The CSR took all the time I needed to explain the program, options, costs, coverage and cancellation policies. When I had trouble understanding a certain point, the CSR explained again to my complete satisfaction. This was an excellent experience.

My dishwasher was not drying the dishes-there was no heat-I contacted and received excellent advice from Heather at 1-941-627-0056. She advised adding a "jet-dry" solution to activate the drying sequence. I did and it worked fine. My comment is that I was not advised by the salesperson to do this, and I feel that the need to buy and use a product that I've not needed before is not quite fair to the consumer. Thanks again to Heather

Please note this is a "POSITIVE" post for Whirlpool Hong Kong. I'm posting this here because I want others to be able to see this as update follow up post for my Apr 20 "NEGATIVE" review post below - I also posted the same in the POSITIVE section.

This is the update for my Apr 20 "negative" review for Whirlpool Hong Kong regarding the repair issue for my broken Whirlpool dryer incident. (For detail, please read my Apr 20 review in the Negative section)

After almost 2 weeks of chasing Whirlpool customer service and a few phone calls with their Service Department Supervisor and then the Complaint Department Supervisor, Whirlpool Hong Kong finally was able to resolve the issue for me first by trying to fly in the service part (circuit board) from Europe to replace the damaged one. However, 2 days after informing me of this arrangement, the Complaint Department contacted me nicely to inform me the part somehow could not make it in the near future for the repair. But this time, they were prepared and did their ground works ahead of time, this supervisor, Carson, immediately and very nicely offered to tell me Whirlpool would replace the damaged dryer with another brand new unit of the same model (actually a newer version of the damaged one). The new dryer had just been delivered and the old one taken away.

Although it was not a pleasant experience during the initial stage of this 2-week process, at the end Whirlpool was able to step up and do the right thing for their customers. For this, at least it gives me back some level of satisfaction and loyalty back to this brand. And thanks to those from Whirlpool who were involved in this process and helped to resolve...

Now this is what customer service is all about. Because of the way they tried to resolve this issue at the end, I would reconsider to rate it from the previous negative to positive again now.

Had an impeller motor fail shortly before the 1-year warranty was up. Customer service was courteous and they said they'd set me up with a local service provider (Columbus, Ohio). Within 2 hours, I got a call from the service company and had an appointment set.

The tech showed up on time, found the problem and replaced the part and took the time to explain a few things to watch for to prevent bigger problems.

I work in field service myself and I couldn't have been more pleased with both the call center and the repair tech. Well done, all.

For those navigating to this site... I will offer a glimmer of hope. Once we reached the Whirlpool executive customer service team we have been treated well. They are replacing the "lemon" refrigerator and doing their best to make things right. I relate to the frustration of those expressed below in the sense that it was a bad experience working through the regular customer service channels... but once you reach the executive department they do honor their warranty and take care of you.

I wanted to say Thankyou for the excellent service I recieved from you customer service department this week. They understood the seriousness of my problem and the outcome was what I had hoped for. I will definitely consider a whirlpool appliance in the future when needed.

We had a problem with a Whirlpool refrigerator that we bought from Lowe's in Anaheim. Customer service that we received from Lowe's could not have been worse. Customer service that we received from Whirlpool could not have been better.
A one year warranty from Whirlpool against defects, and a defect, came with the refrigerator. Setting the temperature in the fresh food section to the proper level was nearly impossible. We did, however, find an unconventional spot on the dial where the temperature was unstable but would stay between 34-42 degrees. Far from ideal but the food was not freezing nor spoiling. The thermostat was obviously defective.
The situation was not urgent so we were lax in reporting it and did not do so until shortly after one year from date of purchase. The warranty does not require that any defect be reported within one year so I wrote a letter to the store manager, Mr. Mark Wiser. He failed to respond - not even a phone call.
After waiting 30 days for his response, I sent a letter to Lowe's corporate offices.
The response basically was,"Don't bother us, if you have a complaint, send it to Whirlpool."
My thoughts were that, we bought the defective refrigerator from Lowe's so Lowe's should fix the defect and recover its expenses from Whirlpool. Discouraged, but after some hesitation I did, nevertheless, write to Whirlpool. Ten days later we got a phone call from Whirlpool and two days thereafter their repairman came and replaced the thermostat. Now that's customer service!
A fundamental difference in customer service between Whirlpool and Lowe's is apparent from the fact that Whirlpool monitors this website and invites those with a complaint to call so it can review the matter. I see no evidence that Lowe's even knows that this website exists.
Lesson learned: If you need a new appliance, consider Whirlpool but, whatever you buy, don't buy it from Lowe's.

I just purchased a whirlpool glass and stainless steel range hood, model #GXW653DXS. The whirlpool logo looks like it has been glued on the top center of the chimney. Can this be removed successfully? It takes away from the beauty of the hood. Nothing against whirlpool. It was not on the model in Brandsmart.

I have had my Whirlpool Washer and Dryer (front load) Duet Steam since 03/09. I used the extended care twice. The first time, a dime had somehow slipped into the pump. The repairman was prompt, clean and knowledgeable and completely fixed it in 30 minutes. The second time the door was not closing. That was a fix of removing some soap residue and D-W40. Hahaha. I think he checked something on the dryer for me as well and all was fine. I just renewed my extended plan for 5 more years and added my other appliances. I don't usually write a review, but wanted to add that I have had Whirlpool Appliances since the 1970's and never had major issues with performance or repair.

I purchased my Whirlpool Convection Range in August 2012. On December 6, 2012 the inside glass door on the oven shattered. It sounded like a bomb going off. The Safety Department at Whirlpool said it would be Monday before anyone could come out. I said NO they needed to be out the next day. They gave me a list of numbers to call and a very nice service tech fit me in. The glass needs to be replaced, but I am contacting the Manager of the store i bought it from and am asking for a replacement. Will let you know how it goes. I think the response I received was done so fast because I was injured when the glass shattered.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer in 2008 and now it is displaying the notorious F1 error code. I searched on the internet for solutions and options, called repair places, and have pretty much just been dealing with the annoying steps we must take to make it work. I really didn't want to purchase a new washer and dryer so instead I called Customer Service. I spoke with a very nice lady named Gloria who quickly gathered my information and model and serial numbers and went to work for me. They are fixing my washer at no charge and have even scheduled my repair 2 days from now!! I'm guessing it was part of a recall but I'm so glad I called! My one suggestion is to be pleasant when calling these Customer Support lines. They are far better to work with this way and definitely more willing to go the extra mile to help you! Best of luck to everyone having appliance issues. My GE fridge is terrible and I'm hoping I can get some good service for it now!

Spoke with Kylee in Tennensee after replacing the control board in my whirlpool double oven about how to reprogram control board to oven size and how to reset the clock. Had me up and going in less than 5 minutes! When you call make sure you have your model number and serial number already written down. This will speed the process. If you're lucky you'll get a good old southerner from Tennessee when you call. I was very pleased with my customer service.

I just got off the phone with a lovely rep. in Tennessee. She was delightful. Though my Cabrio washer is 4 years old, and needs an expensive part, she got permission to send a technician out to the house to bring the part and repair the machine, free of charge!
I didn't know what to expect when I called, based on the negative comments, but I still spoke kindly to her and told her my situation. She resolved my issues in spades! I am renewed in my faith in customer service!

I used to work for Whirlpool as a CSR...here are a few tips : If your unit is out of warranty you will be offered service. If you demand to talk to a supervisor - you are supposed to be transferred, no questions....If you have an out of warranty Whirlpool and expect to be given something, that is not in 9 times out of 10 going to happen.....If you want SOME KIND OF RESPONSE ask for the address of the Whirlpool Executive Team in Benton Harbor and write a letter (they do not take phone calls or emails )... If your unit is 1 year old, you'll be scheduled for service....Call with your Model Number and Serial Number (like the recording tells you) ... and if you are in or out of warranty, be ready to hear the help from the owner's manual or " use and care guide " because that is all the phone people are able to tell you...IT USED TO BE that if you owned any Whirlpool appliance and something happened out of warranty, the CSRs could help you...NOT ANY MORE !!!! They basically schedule service, so know what coverage you have. Oh, and if you have an extended warranty with another company, like Sears or Lowe's or Home Depot - DO NOT CALL WHIRLPOOL - if they schedule you service and you take it - your extended warranty is VOIDED !!!!
