I am appalled at their customer service. No one can seem to tell me why they have not sent me my refund. I ordered service Feb 4, 2015, had it shut off on the Feb 5, 2015. Went back to them and had them to restore service on Feb 14, 2015. That means two checks were issued to Reliant, which one should have been sent back. NO ONE can tell me WHY I have not received my money. They told me three times that the check was in the mail. They told me that the check was voided, and again, applied to my account. I DID NOT ASK YOU TO APPLY ANY FUNDS TO MY ACCOUNT. I BEING THE CUSTOMER, ASKED FOR MY REFUND!!!!! They will not get another red cent from me...I can't wait until my bill is due. I will go with another Energy Company.

I contacted reliant yesterday on 6 times on each occasions no one seemed to know absolutely nothing about their job nor customer service, just needed to get an extension, one fool tried to sell me surge protection, another was clueless and to top it off, the supervisor (Romand) said he was more than capable of handling my problem...After listening to the call, said he still couldn't extend my bill pass 9/5/13, never told me to pay the 25.36 difference between what sheltering arms pledged...this may not be a big deal to you but, I've been a customer for over 35 years, with a great payment history, after my contract ends I will end my relationship with Reliant. Mr.Romand really should be re-educated, and suspend his rudeness has caused you to lose a very valuable customer, when my mother's contract ends I end her relationship with Reliant also...she's been a valuable customer 50 years.

I just called Reliant in Texas to start service in PA after giving ALL my info was told they did not have service in PA!!!

On July 4, 2012, I went to the Freedom over Texas event. Earlier that day, I looked on the internet for the price of tickets. I go to see the fireworks every year. On the internet, it stated that the ticket price was $8.00 or a can of food, which would be donated to the food bank. When I arrive there I saw the cashier accepting the cans of food, but they were also requiring payment for the tickets. The cashier stated that the event was no longer allowing people to enter the event free with a can of food, because it was difficult to transport the cans of food to the food shelter. I gave the cashier the can of food, then left. I went to the firework show at the Miller's Outdoor Theatre. I feel it is wrong to falsely advertise and event, then give such a silly excuse for it.

last week i signed up with reliant, i live in hershey pa, called the 800 # which is in texas, they argued with me they do not provide service in pa!! last week, some how i found correct # for pa office, starting to wonder about this company, they sd i would get info within 3 days of call, never recd anything, and the cust serv reps in texas should be fired!

Reliant is hilarious. In Texas we have a great website powertochoose.org which helps me shop fornthe best deals on power plans every few months.

Somehow, 6 months ago, Reliant happened to have the best rate for the summer. Previously i'd used at least 5 other providers.

So now that i'm a month away from the end of my Reliant contract, they send me a letter telling me to renew my contract.

So i call them and see what they can do. They had terrible offers, and at the end of the call the rep tells me that my call would cost me $6, because of the plan i'm on.

Also, on their website today you see 'best in class customer support - call now' What a racket! Each time you call to talk to a rep, it couls cost you.

Never, ever, ever will i use Reliant Energy again - it's not worth the stupid games they play.

It's a really good service and they give u many options to pay when you can't pay. i would give this service a 10 because they also understand when stuff happens and can relate to u as well.

I called to sign up and a person, Josie, came on line in less than 30 seconds. She was very helpful and all was set up in about 10 minutes. She explained the differences between plans I was interested in and answered all my questions.

Sorry the previous commentor didn't have the correct number but it isn't the Texas person's fault you had the wrong number.I wouldn't expect a PA operator to know everything about all the states' plans; that's pretty extreme expectation. Sorry you had such a frustrating experience and hope the PA operator was informed.

We have been Reliant Customers since before 2001 and we've had great service and honest representation of costs.
