This is a first for me as I have never contacted a hotel or business to voice a positive or negative concern before.,But in our case I thought I needed to respond and let someone know about our stay at the Ramada in Salt Lake City airport location on June 22. Upon arrival at 4 oclock in the afternoon we were notified that our room was not ready or cleaned yet and looking around noticed others standing around in the lobby were in the same predicament. First off I could not understand the woman behind the counter as she spoke broken English (assuming she was from India or Pakistan) After a 20 minute wait we were given the keys to our room, and walking down the hallway towards our room we were overtaken by a pungent smell coming out of the carpeting. When we entered the room we both noticed all the chip marks and missing paint throughout the bathroom and bedroom area. The blow dryer in the bathroom kept falling off the wall, and the towel rack above the toilet only had one bracket holding it up, the sink drained very slowly, and the air conditioning could not be raised or lowered so the room was a little too warm for our liking. The refrigerator control had been removed, so the bottled water we put in there barely stayed cold. The door only had one lock on the handle as the security lock had been removed, and even though The carpeting appeared to be clean, We decided not to walk around in bare feet because its outdated appearance as the whole room look to be 20+ years old. The next morning when we went down to get some fruit and juice for breakfast we could not find a clean table to sit out, so we clean one ourselves. We paid $120 to stay at this hotel which was ridiculous for its appearance and obviously we will never stay there again. Since returning home my girlfriend and I have both got on Facebook and notified friends and family about our experience and advised everyone not to stay at that hotel. Extremely disappointed and thought someone should be informed and hopefully do something about this, thank you.
