I paid the annual fee of 97.45 in July. In August 28, Some outfit called Mcaffee Techmaster services in Pittsford NY ripped me off for $179.95, and they told my credit card company that I authorized the charge. But not before they raped my computer hard drive when I called to complain. I don't know who these flunkies are, and my credit card company ruled against me. But Guess what? They are not my credit card company any more. And Macaffee is a criminal organization. Do yourself a favor AND DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM OR THEIR SUBSIDIARIES.

McAfee overcharged me by almost $100 and although I have called 8 times and was told that I would be issued a refund weeks ago, I still have not been issued the refund. Instead, every person I speak to (none of whom speak English) continue to pass the buck and/or promise me that the refund is going to be issued that day. Yet, still I have not received a refund. In addition, since the day I bought McAfee (which I will never do again as I have always used Norton products) I have been receiving calls from people who (don't work for McAfee but say they do) who have all of my McAfee information (type of products, name, telephone number, date of purchase, etc.) and even though I have also reported this with the phone numbers, it is still going on -- over three months. This NEVER happens with Norton. I cancelled my products with McAfee and will never do business with these people again as the employees cannot communicate in English, do not understand English, and are basically clueless.

I had a problem with my bill, when I called their customer service department to ask for help, instead of trying to solve my problem the person tried to sell me something. The person finally agreed to return the over charge but wanted $20.00 fee.

I will not use them again.

I called McAfee on 06/07/16 to ask about a problem I was having with a new laptop I'd just given my daughter as a HS graduation present, she was with me at the time of the call. I spoke to Ravi (he wouldn't give me his employee number). I informed him that the laptop was showing that the free trial had already expired before we even bought it. Once Ravi understood my question he started asking why am I calling him and wasting his time. I told him I was trying to determine if my issue is with McAfee, Asus or Amazon, but instead of answering my question he kept asking why am I wasting his time and was extremely rude. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and he said he was the supervisor, so I asked to speak to a manager. He wouldn't let me speak to anyone unless I told him why I wanted to talk to them. I told him that I would contact Corporate HQ and he called me a piece of s--t twice and told me to f--k off... then hung up. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in the treatment I received in front of my daughter. I've been a loyal McAfee customer for the past 5 years. Grrr, I did not apply for automatic renewal and it was like pulling teeth to get in to my account to cancel. Finally had to find your phone number to Timbucktoo to cancel the account. I do not like being taken advantage of. Had you checked my account you would have seen that I had already purchased new coverage.

Last year before my renewal I told them not to take the money from my account but they did. I told my bank and showed them proof but they said it was between me and them. I then started a long process of getting run around from here there and everywhere within McAfee and could not get a person at all. Ever! Then I made sure this year to give even more notice and emailed them again. Now, tonight I go to the ATM to get money for fuel and €100 is gone from my bank account. I have tweeted McAfee but obviously no one monitors that either. I've also # them in a Tweet asking if anyone ever got an answer from them. What is going on there. How are they able to take money from your bank account when you have told them not to. There has to be something illegal in that sort of transaction and yet no one seems to have resolved it. I've searched and I can't find any help. So if anyone has ever gotten to the root of this problem please let me know. Thank you.

You people are thieves. How can you automatic a customers account simply because you have their credit card number, and who asked you to keep some ones card number on file. You must obtain permission in order to charge some ones card. That's stealing. Stop this act immidiately and your service is not even good.

I have cancelled my subscription and asked Mcafee to refund my annual fee for Internet security well within the cancellation period, confirm receipt of my emails but Mcafee have not replied at all. They took the fee from my credit account without my consent to renew having obtained other companies'security. No acknowledgement, no refund as my original contract stated. I will tell all NEVER get Mcafee, they do not know or care about client service.

what kind of a security program doesn't know that everyone uses Google search engine!!!!! it always gives me a message and asks me if I want to block it and by mistake I sometimes instead close click on block. Then I need to remove it from the blocked list. Waste of my time thank you so much. I uninstalled this program.

I purchased total protection in Aug. 2015 under I never downloaded it because of the virus on the computer. I took computer back to factory mode. Please email the code so I can download it to the computer.

I see the problem I have is common among users of Mcafee. Every year an amount is deducted from my bank account without my consent. When I try to follow the instructions on how to stop this the website is non responsive. Only the portion of the website that promotes new products and sales is working 100%. Mcafee are intentionally do this to prevent anybody from stopping the automatic deduction. This comes done to theft, how can authorities allow this to continue???????

I will never purchase a mcafee product in my life even if they are free.Money is discounted from my account with out my knowledge and when called them they said it will back in my account in 5 businesd days. But havnt done that and when called again they are telling that not yet processed and will be refunded withini another five days.. Already made more than 20 phone calls which cist me a lot. Rip off company macaffe.

Hallow i am westing 10 more minutes for writing review on your product please read clearly what i would like to say is your support is unsatisfactory in all aspects.

1.Any kind of 3rd rated applications providers also good in support not like yours.
2.No proper responce from Partner,Distributors as well as Mcafee Direct support.
3.To connect an call to support team we have to spend 1:30 hours, what you people think about your self, As we dont have any works or else will have to bear everything for taken your product.
4.Do you know the value of an admin, How he engaged with other works, i can not seen any other antivirus vendor behaving like Mcafee..
5.We have used previously Kaspersky,Fsecure,QuickHeal,Symantic.. they are giving at least one time physical support and also proper escalation matrix but you people dont follow any matrics once key generated on Client you dont need whether they are using or not.

Technical Aspects:

1.Huge consumption in resources, it tooks 1GB RAM for only Antivirus.
2.Server Licences(2008 or 2012) required to configure admin console.
3.have to recruite specific engineer for maintain Mecafee.


Overall rating for your product 0.1 out of 10, Hope my this review will wake up your support team

i atempted to download the mcafee antivirus and was an able to do it a couple of minutes went by and some guy that did not speak much english called me wen i could not understand him he cused me out and told me i was an fffn idiot. this makes me very upset,it is not my fault mcafee sucks .i will never buy an other mcafee antivirus.

Purchased total protection on Nov 2 2015 after 2 weeks and no installation called support and was told that I needed to purchase product gave them purchase info and then was told unable to install because of they first had to clean my computor . I asked why and was told that Mcafee only provides about 70 percent of protection tho I was supposed to have total protection plan. My computer was finally shut down by Microsoft and then had to use their support service clean the computer before I could get back on line,. I wish to cancel my subscription . Mcafee has been removed

Started a chat conversation which needed remote control to sort out activation problems with live safe. The support technician clearly found it difficult to know how to sort the problem. After an hour of him changing things incorrectly and myself having to keep saying no and re explain. He then said he would restart the computer and come back. The computer restarted and he never came back. No help at all and the problem wasn't resolved!!!!

Nothing i can add to what has already been said on this forum. I am going back to Currys for a refund. Mcafee website is the worst i have ever encountered and trying to contact them via telephone or via total satisfaction tool is ridiculous. This company should be investigated by trading standards and made to fulfill their obligations.

Order No Charge of $179.95 to Dorothy Davis was not authorized and should be credited back to her mastercard. She is of failing health and does not need this stress. We were told that Windstream made this charge and Windstream said they did not make this charge. it is for McAfee Tech Master. Please credit the account of Dorothy David and auto renewal of $179.95 on 8/20/15. The tech master never fixed her computer after 2 day of being on the phone back in 2014. Please be kind and help a person.

Mcafee support is a joke! Had a problem installing ANTIVIRUS told to contact Tech Support, over 2 hours to reach them. Spent over 2 1/2 hours with one technician via remote access to my pc, a big mistake in hindsight. She disconnect and left me with a messed up PC, called back and got Tech 2. He assured me he could "fix" the issue. Via remote access he followed the same steps as Tech 1, obviously a scripted procedure. He achieved nothing except deleted "files" that might interfer with McAfee. Left me without any "protection" and said a Level 2 Tech would call me tomorrow. Level 2 Tech repeated the same steps, even though I told her 1 & 2 tried the same approach. After 2 hours and removing "things" she told me it was a problem with my internet provider and to contact them. Told her that was not possible because I installed the program myself on another computer, she insisted and disconnected leaving my pc in shambles. These people are from the Phillipines and India recieve 1 month of training and could care less about anyone's issues with McAfee or with them. My advice is never agree to remote access, its like letting a burgalar in your home and don't purchase a McAfee product.
I did contact my internet service provider to satisfy my curiosity and everything is fine, thank you very much!

I recently bought a new hp laptop and mistakenly download the Mcafee's live safe antivirus software for 30 days. ISt's very tricky, did not say it was downloading or even what the product was. It disconnected Windows Defender. I did not register for Mcafee's. I deleted it from the control panel and downloaded the further uninstall tool. I spent hours trying to get Windows Defenter to turn on even though the Mcafee's uninstall tool said it was removed. After more hours spent on line trying to fix it and not antivirus software working, I reinstalled windows, lost all apps, had to reinstall them which took alot of time. the good news is that the mcafee's app downloaded by hp was gone and windows defender came on. Beware not to click on that mcafee's icons on your desk top unless you want to have the experience of a new computer turn into a nightmare. One last thing, their help function is helpless.

Terrible service, billed for unauthorized services to my credit card. Number provided does not work it continues to say unable to connect, or it just does not pick up or even ring spend the last 2 1/2 hours trying.

It took a while to find why my protection did not work (real time scanning would not start). She tried different ways, the best option was to re-install product software. Wow, thank you again. First of all, let me say, I am a person who works at one Mcafee Support stations. When I went thru the comments here, one thing I can guarentee you is that majority of the people here who said to have contacted Mcafee tech support has unfortunately reached the wrong place to seek help. I can say, there are almost 1000s of fake support links in the web, which might guide you to the wrong place.We see plentiful of customers complaining they had been charged for Mcafee Tech help. For your people information, the tech support for Mcafee is 100% Free unless it is found to be a system/OS related issue.For that as well, they have a Genuine Tech line which is a premium support,but they don't crash your PC. Rates vary upon the type of service you purchase.

If anyone out there needs help related to Mcafee, you can freely contact us, followed by the OS n type of support(Sales,refund,technical,etc) as you need.

REGARDING POP UPS AND FAKE BROWSERS

To be frank, most people who ends up with Browser Pop ups should try understand, this issue only happens when you click on Some flashy Icons or some other sort of links that you may get from anywhere, even your friends/family. To be frank,I use a PC where I donot even have a Security software installed and I am proud to say, I dont have a single mess like that.So, its your browsing habbit that needs to be changed. Rest apart, Mcafee will take care about.

For Mcafee, if your issue is not fixed at the Tier 1 level, they have the 2nd level, and 3rd Level. Even if you are not happy with that,you even have the option to get in touch with the Executive teams as well. So, Mcafee Support is Open for business all the time and for all sorts of Mcafee issues for Free and if its a OS/PC related problem, there is a Dedicated Q for that as well, which is premium.

I have seen many people saying, Why Iindians. You guys dont understand the fact that, this is a 24/7 support line and here there are 100s of people,who are ready to help you leaving their Family, their Sleep in the night, and much more. Reading the reviews of other customers scared the life out of me whilst calling in to macafee for a refund, i explained i didnt have the laptop anymore and the wonderful lady on the phone simply said she would cancel it and refund me, thumbs up from this transaction!

I have had McAfee for years, never needing to use their service until April this year; the fix took several hours. They explained what they were doing, time after time. They were patient. They were professional. I even got some tips on how to speed up my computer. If I said anything negative, it would NOT be true.
In a nutshell, they were awesome!

I am having a problem with McAfee telling me that my computer is at risk even though my subscription is paid for to July 2012. I have to click on the McAfee icon and then click update to get McAfee to state my computer is safe. This happens every day. I will probably not renew with McAfee when this runs out.

I own AT&T DSL and that pays for McAfee firewall, virus protect, etc.

While watching Naruto comics online, my adobe which was updated on Sept. 30, 2011 crashed while downloading a new Sept. 30, 2011 trojan virus.

The virus prevented McAfee from doing scans, and prevented all windows and McAfee updates.

I called customer support and they took control of my computer. The first thing they did was uninstall McAfee, because they figured McAfee had a defective file. Hrm... Then they tried to reinstall McAfee, but the virus blocked the install or prevented it from installing.

The customer support then proceeded to as if I wanted to accept a $90 additional charge to my bill to remove this virus.

I was like, WOW! Really? I have to pay $90 every time you guys let a virus through to infect my computer??? They have a very poor guarantee service.. They guarantee to charge you $90 every time they fail.

Of coarse, I told them no. I deleted all my temp files, restored my computer to a later point, downloaded a "FREE" virus killer, scanned and found out it was a new Sept. 30, 2011 virus, removed it with the "FREE" virus protector, and now I have stupid remnants of McAfee in my security settings (the uninstall was fail too, still had crap left over that wasn't easily removable without editing registry)

The funny thing is... without the resource hog... my computer actually runs waaaay faster. No lag at all. I just thought my computer was getting old because the entire time I had McAfee it was running terribly slow. Now things run super fast...

I would like to say what a fantastic experience I have had today dealing with McAfee and a computer glitch. I will admit that I am so not computer literate. Initially tried to access the guidance to resolve my issue but for some reason my computer could not access links etc as my computer seemed to have lost this. The first guy I was in contactwith was named Sarath Raj who I must say was very courteous and very helpful and due to me not following his instructions 100% I messed up the final result. Contacted the support desk again and was linked to a fabulous bloke called Abdul Latheef. I couldn't ask for more - he totally took control of everything and thanks to him I am a happy customer and have no worries regarding my security and computer glitches. Unfortunately was unable to thank him personally for all of his help. I so hope that my comments do get back to both of these guys.

Last year, a McAfee salesman tried to sell me a multi-year subscription. It took me 45 minutes on the phone with him to convince him I only wanted one year. I almost hung up, but he finally "gave in" and "LET" me buy one year. Four months ago, the computer got a virus. I took it to a tech who scrubbed the computer and put FREE virus protection on it-NO MORE PROBLEMS! Today, my bank statement showed a $59.99 charge from McAfee. I called the number listed here and they said my money will be refunded in 5 days and gave me a confirmation number. Thank you to whoever supplied this information. It was a big help. Hope to see my money soon!
