I was trying for 1-1/2 hours to just get a quote for individual dental insurance. Each individual I spoke with transferred me to the wrong department. It is the most frustrating phone call I have made in years!!! I will go with CIGNA just because their phone line was efficient and I received a quote and email in 10 minutes time!!

AARP Delta Dental is a total rip-off - put your monthly premiums in the bank and save them. They denied the billing for my cleaning last December three times (who knows why) and when I finally wrote a letter to them myself, they paid about two thirds of it, but then asked my dentist to reimburse them as they had processed the claim wrong. I cancelled - they continued to take the monthly premiums out of my checking account - and I finally gave up and filed a claim with the CA Dept. of Insurance, which did resolve everything after several more months; their customer service is horrible as well. This company is nothing but a big scam!

I won't respond to any accusations, but what I will give out are a few times.

1. If you don't have ID cards, don't panic. We're more than happy to help you get them, and we have multiple ways to do so. But don't wait til the last minute!

2. Check out the website!

3. Understand your policy, your HR department will usually have a lot of resources you can go over. Be your own advocate.

4. Please, please, please call us to check your eligibility. Don't wait for your dentist to do it for you! They're people too, and they can make mistakes!

5. Be nice. We want to help you. We love helping you, and we love our jobs, but if you call in and insult us or use racial slurs against us, you're not going to get anywhere.

6. Understand that there are some things we simply can't do, and that in most cases we as people really do feel bad about it.

In a customer service aspect, or really in any aspect, this is the best company I've ever worked for. We are treated with respect. We are given all the tools we need to succeed, and we are encouraged to follow our dreams even if our dreams take us elsewhere.
I'm happy at this job, and I like to think it shows when I talk to customers!
